See Karnak by day first, then this
We had done Karnak in the morning, so walking the same route lit at night was magical. The narration is old-fashioned but the columns lit from below make up for it. Transfer from our cruise boat was on time.

Walk through the lit temple at night while the story of Thebes is told from the walls.
The evening Sound and Light Show at Karnak Temple with transfers from your Luxor hotel or boat: a walking show through the lit pylons and the Great Hypostyle Hall, then a seated finale by the sacred lake, about 75 minutes in your language (English, German, French, Spanish and others on set days). 45 EUR per adult with the ticket, pickup about 18:30 (19:30 in summer).
Adult and child (4–11) per person, entry tickets included. Choose your row in the booking box.

By day Karnak is a construction site of the gods; at night, with the columns lit from below and the narration echoing between them, it becomes the temple the priests knew. It is the one show in Egypt worth the ticket.
Pickup 45 minutes before the show. The show starts at the first pylon with the story of Thebes and moves in stages through the Avenue of Sphinxes, the courts and the Great Hypostyle Hall, each part lit as the narration reaches it.
The second half is seated in the grandstand by the sacred lake, with the whole temple lit across the water. Total about 75 minutes on foot and seated. Shows run in several languages on a weekly rota; we book the show in your language or provide headsets where available.
Back at your hotel about 21:30. Combine with the sunset felucca for a full Luxor evening.
About the tickets: The show ticket and the transfers are included. A private guide is not needed; the show narrates itself.
