About this tour

The West Bank of Luxor is the necropolis of Thebes: kings on one side of the hill, queens and princes on the other, and Hatshepsut's temple between them. This tour walks all of it with Tutankhamun included.

Pickup at 07:00. The Valley of the Kings first: three tombs from the open list, then Tutankhamun (KV62), the small tomb that held the treasures now at the Grand Egyptian Museum and still holds the king. Your guide explains Carter's 1922 season room by room.

The Valley of the Queens next, quieter and greener, with the tombs of Amunherkhepshef and Khaemwaset, the sons of Ramses III, painted as brightly as any in the valley. Nefertari's tomb (QV66, timed ticket of about 2,000 EGP) can be added when it is open.

Then the Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, the Punt reliefs and the Hathor chapel, and the Colossi of Memnon on the road back. Lunch at a West Bank restaurant. Back at your hotel or boat around 13:00; Hurghada guests around 19:00.
