Private car from Hurghada made the difference

Just the two of us with Mahmoud and a driver. Valley of the Kings before the coaches, Hatshepsut, lunch by the Nile, Karnak in the afternoon light. We added Seti I on the spot and he was right, it is the best tomb. Home by 8:30 pm.

Mit dem Flugzeug ab Sharm: die richtige Entscheidung

Abholung um 4 Uhr, eine Stunde Flug, in Kairo wartete unser Ägyptologe mit dem Auto. Pyramiden ohne Hektik, Mittagessen, dann drei Stunden im Großen Ägyptischen Museum. Um 22 Uhr waren wir zurück im Hotel. Teurer als der Bus, aber für uns mit zwei Kindern perfekt.

Seti I. allein im Grab

Um 6:30 abgeholt, um 7 standen wir allein im Grab von Sethos I. Die Farben sind unglaublich. Danach Tutanchamun und drei weitere Gräber. Der Guide konnte Hieroglyphen lesen und hat uns die Texte erklärt. Absolut empfehlenswert.

Awesome experience

Awesome experience floating down the Nile River. The guides were extremely friendly and accommodating for our family of 6 adults. They let us connect our own music to the speaker as well. Dinner was very yummy and we wished we booked it for longer! Very very cool thing to do for our first time in Egypt.

Fun evening with the kids

Camel ride in the dark with the pyramids lit up in the distance, then a big grilled dinner and a tanoura show by the fire. The drive to the camp is 45 minutes, which is the only reason for four stars. The kids talked about it for days.

See Karnak by day first, then this

We had done Karnak in the morning, so walking the same route lit at night was magical. The narration is old-fashioned but the columns lit from below make up for it. Transfer from our cruise boat was on time.

Great price and experience

Mahmoud Khalefa was a great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about Egyptian history. The El Hakem mosque was beautiful and interesting. The Bazaar was very lively. The Sharma that we are at the restaurant was very delicious. All in all it was a great experience. The experience was definitely worth the price.

Alexandria in a day, done right

Left Cairo at 7, catacombs, Pompey's Pillar, the Roman theatre, Qaitbay and a fish lunch on the harbour, then the library. Long day but the private car made it easy. Our guide knew the Greek and Roman history in depth.

Better than the cruise stops

We used this instead of a Nile cruise to get from Luxor to Aswan. Esna, Edfu and Kom Ombo with a real Egyptologist, lunch in Edfu, and dropped at our Aswan hotel at 5 pm. Edfu is astonishing, complete from floor to roof.
