朝4時半にホテルへ迎えに来てもらい、ナイル川を渡って気球へ。日の出とともに王家の谷とハトシェプスト女王葬祭殿の上を飛びました。パイロットも丁寧で、8時にはホテルで朝食でした。

Luxor is one of the great balloon sites of the world: flat, dry, still at dawn, and with the whole necropolis of Thebes below. On most mornings from October to April thirty balloons rise together as the sun clears the eastern hills.
Pickup from your hotel or cruise boat in the dark. A motorboat takes you across the Nile with tea and a cake on board, and a minibus drives to the launch field on the West Bank where the crew are inflating the balloons.
The flight lasts about 45 minutes depending on wind. The pilot rises to 300 to 500 m and drifts over the Colossi of Memnon, the Temple of Hatshepsut in its cliff, the tombs of the nobles, sometimes the Valley of the Kings itself, with the Nile and Karnak in the distance. Baskets take 16 to 28 passengers in compartments of four.
After a soft landing in the fields the crew hands out flight certificates and the minibus returns you to the boat and your hotel by 08:00, in time for breakfast and a full day of sightseeing.

Civil Aviation decides at 04:00. If the flight is cancelled you are offered the next morning or a full refund. About one morning in ten in winter, fewer in the other seasons.
Companies are licensed and inspected by Egyptian Civil Aviation, pilots log hundreds of hours, and the flight is insured. We work with the two largest operators only.
Before sunrise from November to March, yes: 8 to 12 °C. The burner warms the basket once you are up. Bring a jacket.
You book without a card. You pay on the day of the tour in EUR (or the equivalent in EGP or USD) to the guide, or by bank transfer in advance if you prefer. Flight options need the flight paid 72 hours before travel; we send a link.
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup, 48 hours for tours that include a flight. Balloon flights cancelled by Civil Aviation for wind are refunded in full.

Just do it!
Amazing! From start to finish, pilot excellent, most gentle and well executed landing. Respectful of the farmers and avoided landing in their crops. Stunning views, the statues from the air still look huge, loved it and highly recommend, even if you don’t like heights like me.
