Better than the cruise stops
We used this instead of a Nile cruise to get from Luxor to Aswan. Esna, Edfu and Kom Ombo with a real Egyptologist, lunch in Edfu, and dropped at our Aswan hotel at 5 pm. Edfu is astonishing, complete from floor to roof.

The Nile road south with the three temples cruise ships stop at, ending in Aswan.
A 10-hour private transfer-tour from Luxor to Aswan with an Egyptologist: the Temple of Khnum at Esna, the Temple of Horus at Edfu (the best preserved in Egypt), and the double temple of Sobek and Horus at Kom Ombo with its crocodile museum, lunch on the way, ending at your Aswan hotel or boat. 120 EUR per adult with all tickets; the reverse direction (Aswan to Luxor) at the same price.
Adult and child (4–11) per person, entry tickets included. Choose your row in the booking box.

The three temples between Luxor and Aswan are Ptolemaic, late and complete: a roof, a full set of reliefs, a staircase to the top. Doing them by car takes a day and turns the transfer into the best part of your trip.
Pickup at 07:00 in Luxor. Esna first, 55 km south: the Temple of Khnum, sunk nine metres below the modern street with its Roman hypostyle hall of 24 columns, the colours cleaned in the 2020s.
Edfu next, 110 km from Luxor: the Temple of Horus, built between 237 and 57 BC and the most intact in Egypt, with its 36 m pylon, the two granite falcons, the sanctuary with the shrine, and the reliefs of the battle between Horus and Seth. Lunch at a restaurant in Edfu.
Kom Ombo in the afternoon, on a bend of the river 45 km before Aswan: the double temple with two of everything for Sobek the crocodile god and Horus the Elder, the surgical instruments relief, the Nilometer and the crocodile museum with mummified crocodiles. Arrival in Aswan about 17:00 at your hotel or cruise boat.
About 1.5 hours.
About the tickets: Esna, Edfu and Kom Ombo tickets and the crocodile museum are included.
