Most tours show you three tombs. This one adds the two that matter most: Seti I, reopened after decades with its 137 m of painted corridors intact, and Tutankhamun, small, famous and the only royal mummy still lying in its tomb.
Pickup at 06:30 to be at the valley when it opens and before the coaches. The tomb of Seti I first, while it is empty: the descending corridors, the astronomical ceiling, the Book of Gates, the burial chamber with the vaulted ceiling. Your guide has 45 minutes inside with you.
Then Tutankhamun: the four small rooms cleared by Carter in 1922, the wall paintings of the opening of the mouth, the quartzite sarcophagus and the king himself in a climate-controlled case. Afterwards three tombs on the general ticket, chosen by the guide from the day's open list (Ramses IV, Ramses IX, Merenptah, Ramses III), and the tomb of Ramses V/VI can be added for its ceiling.
A stop at the alabaster workshops of Gurna if you wish and the Colossi of Memnon on the way back. Return about 11:30 from Luxor; Hurghada guests continue with lunch and are back at the hotel by about 18:00.

Um 6:30 abgeholt, um 7 standen wir allein im Grab von Sethos I. Die Farben sind unglaublich. Danach Tutanchamun und drei weitere Gräber. Der Guide konnte Hieroglyphen lesen und hat uns die Texte erklärt. Absolut empfehlenswert.
